Smithfield has developed internal training that educates HR leaders and hiring managers on both the structure of the military (rank, MOS, etc.) and the skills veterans add to our workforce. Our EBRG, Smithfield Salutes, is working with our talent acquisition team to develop career paths and structure though an internal initiative we're calling "Project Hire".

military spouse recruitment and hiring

Starting in 2019 we have begun tracking military spouse hires and employees. In May 2019 during Military Appreciation Month and Military Spouse Appreciation Month we will officially kicked off with internal messaging around the importance of supporting military spouses. They were all recognized with a gift during that time as well.
