Bristol Myers Squibb partners with PsychArmor Institute to provide hiring manager capability training on the benefits veterans bring to the workforce. PsychArmor® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers critical resources to Americans so they can effectively engage with and support military service members, Veterans, and their families. PsychArmor currently provides both in-person sessions and online training videos delivered by national subject matter experts to our employees.

military spouse recruitment and hiring

Since 2019, Bristol Myers Squibb has participated in the military spouse unemployment/underemployment initiative spearheaded by Second Lady Karen Pence and American Corporate Partners. Bristol Myers Squibb Government Affairs is currently working with New Jersey state legislators to enhance current laws for temporary professional or occupational licensure for qualified nonresident military spouses in New Jersey.

military caregiver policy

In November 2019, Bristol Myers Squibb hosted a first-in-kind cross-industry round table focused on military and veteran caregivers. The round table included representation from biopharmaceuticals, financial, consulting and non-profit organizations. Blue Star Families and The Rosalyn Carter Institute for Caregiving provided an educational component on what employers should know about the challenges faced by veteran caregivers. The Elizabeth Dole Foundation gave an overview on practical ways employers can support military and veteran caregivers in the workplace. Finally, a focused round table discussion on caregiver hiring and flexible work environments commenced, covering best practices for caregiver employment, hiring packages, and working environments.
