military culture

Empowerment and training are not relegated only to those with military experience, ours is a strategy of inclusion. Military recruiting is integrated into the overall talent strategy, and it is the responsibility of all corporate and field recruiters. We have offered training guides and sessions with subject matter experts in the subjects of military culture, structure, and transition guidance, leveraging video conference options for remote locations. New veteran associates are mainstreamed with all new entrants into our programs, as it was learned from past programs that shared experience was more advantageous for individual and group growth. Additionally our Veterans Welcome Home Commitment includes a Veteran Champion Program, a 6 week on-boarding to assimilate new veteran associates into their new work environment and position them for early success.

military spouse recruitment and hiring

On November 12, 2018, Walmart announced the Military Spouse Career Connection, giving hiring preference to military spouses who seek employment with Walmart or Sam’s Club.
