The senior leader of GDIT was a Naval Academy graduate and served in the U.S. Navy. The second most senior leader on the GDIT leadership, attended The Citadel and served in the U.S. Air Force.

Amy Gilliland is president of General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics Corporation. Before being named president in September 2017, Amy served as GDIT’s deputy for operations and was responsible for the all aspects of the company’s business operations.

Since joining General Dynamics Corporation in 2005, Amy served in a variety of leadership roles, including senior vice president of human resources and administration, chief of staff for the chief executive officer and staff vice president of strategic planning, staff vice president of investor relations and director of strategic planning.

Prior to joining General Dynamics Corporation, Amy served in the U.S. Navy as a surface warfare and public affairs officer. Her Navy assignments included the USS LABOON (DDG 58), the Legislative Liaison Office to the U.S. House of Representatives, the Office of the Secretary of the Navy and the Office of Information.

Amy earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy, a master’s degree from Cambridge University and a master’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University.
