military culture

Our Siemens Veterans Network utilizes the real-life experiences of our veterans to provide insight into the military culture to others in the organization via a program called the “Veterans of Siemens Healthineers Speaker Series”. Each month, one of our veterans shares their personal story and military experience, including branch of service, assignments, and experiences. They share their transition to civilian life - their approach to finding a job, the experience of transitioning and adapting to a ‘corporate’ culture from the military, lessons learned and words of wisdom. The webcast is then opened for Q&A where other veterans connect and non-veterans engage to learn more about the individual and their military experience. We've found this forum to be a very effective way to educate our employees about military culture and highlights the benefits that veterans bring to the table based on their military experience, rather than a more formal, one-time training event.
