We provide training and military literacy-building resources to business leaders and company focals for Military and Veteran relevant functions, such as Recruitment. These resources are available through a variety of medium to ensure accessibility, to include through online community partners, internally available web-based training, virtual learning pathways, targeted presentations across the business, employee resource group sponsored events, and by request expert-facilitated sessions.

Boeing’s strategy and talent-focus serving Military are fully inclusive in name and policy of Veterans and Military Family Member, to include Military Spouses. Our enterprise and HR strategy directly calls this out by name – ‘Boeing’s Enterprise Veteran and Military Spouses Talent Strategy’. Additionally, Boeing provides a number of benefits serving our military community members. For example, the company provides back-up child and adult care to employees. This benefit provides double the number of subsidized days for Veterans, Military Spouses, and Military Caregivers, specifically. In addition, the company provides a variety of learning opportunity for Military Spouses, to include a web-based learning pathway for Military Spouses and Managers of Military Spouses. Our internal website for our military community includes resources specific to Military Spouses and their managers. Boeing drives inclusivity in our definition of military, to include within our Employee Resources Group for Veterans. The purpose statement of the resource group specifically indicates its mission serves Veterans, Military Spouses, and Military family members. Boeing is proud to be a community sponsor for a variety of events that focus on Military Spouses and employment. A great example of this was a full-day event sponsored by Boeing in collaboration with Seattle-area nonprofits, government, and corporate partners, at Whidby Island Naval Base This full day event was open to Military Spouses in the region and featured a variety of employment focused sessions and networking opportunities.

military connected assistance
Boeing offers a wide-variety of Veteran and Military-affiliated programming and resources for our employees. These programs include mentoring programs available to any employee with a military affiliation, enhanced benefits such as twice the back-up childcare and adult care benefits for military spouses and military caregivers. The company offers medical benefits, Tricare healthcare support, and financial planning assistance specific to military-affiliated employees. Boeing considers any employee that is a Veteran, is a family member of a veteran (e.g. dependent), or is a military caregiver to be a military-affiliated employee. Additionally, our Guard and Reservists receive full pay or discrepancy pay, contingent on type of leave, while they are on military duty and/or are deployed. The company boasts more than 30 regionally-based employee resource groups in the US and internationally serving our military members, their families, and all supporters of the military. This ERG, Boeing’s Veterans Engagement Team, hosts developmental programing, volunteer opportunities to serve our communities, access to Veteran and Military-affiliated services, and internal community and network building events for our employees. Beyond the employees themselves, Boeing also provides resources for the managers of our Veterans and Military Spouses through learning and development coursework available online, online manager training, and additional military literacy training. Boeing’s one-stop internal website for Veterans and Military affiliated employees provides a single source of information for all resources and benefits for our military community and their managers. We are committed to creating a supportive and engaging community for our Veterans and Military-affiliated employees within Boeing.

We offer tuition assistance or other financial support toward the preparation, attainment, and/or maintaining of an academic or professional certificate, degree, or another civilian credential,We offer a professional licensure or certificate in lieu of military service,We offer apprenticeships, internships, or other formalized, structured training program/s to assist with the attainment of a civilian credential,OtherOur innovative Military Skills Translator tool helps match military skills and experience to current job opportunities at Boeing. In addition, for several positions, mechanics or certain IT positions, Boeing does accept military experience in lieu of technical certifications. Some requisition are written to allow for the experience to be a factor and the technical certifications are assets but not a requirement. This allows more candidates with the Military experience into the hiring pools.The International Association of Machinists (IAM) Boeing Joint Apprenticeship Program, established in 1935, is eligible for GI Bill funding and has graduated over 1100 apprentices. An IAM/Boeing apprenticeship is a combination of real world, on-the job work assignments under the instruction of qualified employees. It includes mandatory off-hour trade related classroom instruction in specific highly skilled trades
