description

Humana has a deep commitment to hiring Veterans and Military Spouses. We recognize that they're part of a distinct and highly skilled professional talent pool with a lot to offer our organization. We want to be an employment destination of choice for veterans, military spouses, and disabled veterans. In order to facilitate that desire, we continue to increase our efforts to create better experiences for those transitioning out of the military and into corporate America. We do this by providing a unique hands on approach to career coaching, advocacy, and on-boarding. Our goal is to bring veterans and military spouses into our Humana family for a solid career that is rewarding both to them and the people we serve on a daily basis.

military culture

We provide leaders and talent managers training on the value of the veteran/value of hiring veterans. We are currently developing an on-demand employee certification for anyone in Humana to better understand military culture and the unique challenges of active military members, veterans, military retirees, military spouses, and military family members. This training is specifically geared towards creating certified advocates. Our Humana Government business unit trains their associates on military culture and experience in order to ensure that we execute the TRICARE East contract with an understanding of those we serve.

military spouse recruitment and hiring

The veterans hiring initiative while named this way is an umbrella label for both veterans and military spouses. Military spouses are provided the same considerations/resources/assistance as veterans. We work with military spouse organizations such as MSEP and Blue Star Families to provide employment assistance and resources.
